Morgane Lavoine, new teacher at the Isadora dance school where she was a student for ten years

For her first class as a new teacher of contemporary and modern jazz dance at the Isadora dance school in Montluçon (Allier), Morgane Lavoine shows a radiant smile on Friday. “I feel like it’s Christmas Eve and I can’t wait to open my presents! »

The dancer, choreographer and actress is on familiar ground at 2 rue Molière. It must be said that she attended Isadora school from 1989 to 1999.

“I came here when I was 4 years old. I was there every night. I have taken all classes: classical, modern jazz, contemporary and character. Coming to school every day was not a limitation. »

The obligation to leave Montluçon at that time

After ten years at her school, headmistress Alexandra Martin-Volcovici knows that Morgane needs to step up to become a professional.

“When she was 14, I told her parents that she had to take professional courses in Paris. The dance courses and the Young Dancer Springboard did not exist then and she had no choice but to leave Montluçon. »

State diploma contemporary dance

Passionate, Morgane Lavoine is a workaholic. In Paris, in addition to dancing, she took acting lessons with Cours Florent and Cours Simon. At nineteen she passed the state diploma to teach dance.

“I continued to do classical, contemporary and modern jazz at the same level. I passed my diploma in contemporary dance after asking my teachers for advice. But I notice that in what I teach you feel the influence of all dances. »

New projects and the same fun teaching

The 30-year-old taught in Paris for a long time while pursuing her career. Returning to Montluçon, she first launched new projects (her show les 4 K barrés and her group les Enfants terribles) before returning to teaching with pleasure.

“I have always enjoyed teaching. I like sending. It was heartbreaking to leave my students in Paris. I adapt to the people in front of me. I have a technical program but I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do. »
