A first spotlight will be illuminated on the track on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, with the birth of the Muga Gabe (“Sans Limite”) festival at the suggestion of Easac, his teacher Alexandre Rodoreda and his president Hermine Dikoumé. For this occasion, two companies have been invited to perform on the forecourt of the town hall: Lunatum for a hand-to-hand song and Mattatoio Sospeso with hanging acrobatics, vertically against the walls of the town hall.

Sud-Aquitaine National Scene: 2022-2023 Season, An Invitation to Travel

51 shows await the audience, with a backdrop of near and far horizons fueled by bountiful creation. Israel, United States, Quebec, Catalonia, Caribbean, Portugal… Across the world of artistic expressions, the National Scene’s new program promises a great 2022-2023 season

“In the afternoon, the artists and I will offer workshops for the youngest,” says Alexandre Rodoreda, who studied at the Annie-Fratellini School and former teacher at the School of Chinese Performing Arts in Paris. † Who is hiding his hope of making this meeting the basis of a long-term relationship with Urrugne: “We hope that the festival will settle into the calendar and that it will quietly thicken. †

It would then be the cement of an agreement already concluded under excellent auspices: “We have a very good contact with the assistants for culture and sports that we have met, welcomes Hermine Dikoumé. It is also interesting to have been able to discuss with the heads of these delegations. This shows that the City understands what the current circus is. “Be an art in its time, serious in its athletic and creative approach, taking into account the evolutions of its immediate environment.

A vision confirmed by those involved Age Leijenaar and Mattin Rafu: “During my first meeting with Alexandre so that he could explain his project to me, I quickly understood that he stuck to our philosophy in all respects,” says the latter. During our campaign, we had not thought of a cultural and sporting action around the contemporary circus. But the parts fit together well. †

Zirko Etxea

Thus, the foundations were laid of the other plan now carried out by Alexandre Rodoreda, Hermine Dikoumé and the city: the creation in Urrugne of a circus house, Zirko Etxea, with a circus school, “which will also be a stage for dissemination, creative laboratory especially around acrobatics, residence and meeting place between artists from both sides of the border. »

If the horizon will only take shape in two or three years, the first design illustrates a pursuit of excellence: “It would be a light, modern and movable structure with the lowest possible impact on the environment. , with an area of 550 m² and 13 meters high, describe the professor and his director. Compared to the Easac, which focuses on acrobatics, we will open this school to other devices and disciplines, especially air. We are already in contact with professional artists who can intervene on sessions at the start, pending the establishment of a teaching team for the year, when this will be possible. †

“A dome” at Socoa

After sending a first student, Joakin Achériteguy, to the National Center for Circus Arts (Cnac) in Châlons-en-Champagne, Alexandre Radoreda aims high, clearly hoping to put the Basque Country and Urrugne on the map of educational structures leading to professionalism , “while of course a leisure section is offered to broaden this offer for all target groups”.

The duo also states that they ‘want to be inspired by the culture here’. We are attached to it, just as we are attached to the cross-border character of the area. We already know what initiatives are emerging on the other side of the Bidasoa, especially in Bilbao, bridges will be built. †
