“Off the field, the most important thing for me is helping young people – who may not have access to the kind of opportunities that others can have – to realize their dreams and their potential. And with new technologies offering such great opportunities, I wanted to partner with an ambitious global technology brand that would resonate with the young people whose dreams we support. Sorare was the perfect partner and I was beyond inspired by Nicolas and the team’s enthusiasm for football, the fans and building a better and more inclusive world. I can’t wait to get started and make a global impact with them as their first player ambassador.” adds Kylian Mbappe in a press release.

How the Sorare Fantasy game works

In Sorare, users called Managers create teams consisting of: 5 players : a goalkeeper, a defender, a midfielder, a striker and another fielder.

Managers enter these teams into different tournaments, each with their own eligibility requirements, such as the age of the players or the region in which their club plays.

Based on the performance of real players, all entered formations are ranked against each other in a final ranking. The higher a manager’s position in a leaderboard, the better the prizes he earns.

The players have different rarities: each footballer is represented by 1,000 so-called Limited cards, 100 so-called Rare cards, 10 so-called Super Rare cards and a Unique card. Managers compete for cards in Sorare’s market.

The app and game also allow users to: sell their cards (NFT) at the market price. Some have been resold for several hundred thousand euros in recent months.
