“If there are more, there are more”. This proverb has never been so true for the metaverse† In a month, one of the components of Web3 will have hosted real estate investment platforma virtual hotel† a shopping mall and now an office space. A project that comes to us from Zigbang, a South Korean real estate startup. What will these offices look like and what will they be used for? Will virtual offices replace physical offices?
Offices dedicated to international cooperation
The platform that Zigbang uses is called soma. The startup focuses on the South Korean real estate market, but collaborates with international talent. This virtual space is therefore intended to enable remote collaboration between all employees of the company. To be precise, inventing a new way of working.
Soma’s offices are a bit reminiscent of the world of Second Life video games or The Sims. Each employee has his own avatar and can communicate with other colleagues – avatar † Only the exchanges do not take place via a chat tool. The platform activates the webcam of the users and shows their real face.
Not-so-unprecedented work experience
On the scale of startup Zigbang, creating a virtual office is nothing new. The company already has another platform metaverse, dedicated to local businesses. As regards soma, the structure is already well modeled. The interface has a thirty-storey office building called Proptech Tower and 42 Convention Center. It has 500 seats and six meeting rooms.
This working concept was also developed by the American real estate network eXp Realty. The brand has set up its own metaverse platform, Virbela† Its use is essentially the same as: soma (startup Zigbang). It is an HR tool that promotes collaboration between all real estate advisors worldwide.

Towards the end of physical agencies?
We have good news and bad news: we have absolutely no answer. However, we see through the South Korean startup and eXp Realty that the metaverse wants to facilitate collaboration between international colleagues. Finally, it should be noted that eXp Realty is a network of agents. Metaverse or not, the issue of physical agencies does not arise.
In that sense, the metaverse should be seen more as an additional work tool for real estate professionals. In other words, a new way of marketing real estate: both real and virtual.
Everything to do with Web3 and its application in real estate is still largely fictitious. If you want to learn more about this topic and get an idea of the possible changes to come, our special article should guide you†
