The management school of the business school in Toulouse changes its name to TBS Education. The management team unveiled this Thursday, April 8, its future investments to welcome nearly 7,000 students to “inspiring, innovative and eco-friendly” campuses.
The management team of the TBS management school (Toulouse business school renamed TBS education) outlined its future, by 2026, on Thursday 8 April during a press conference of “The cube”. to students at the Boulevard Lascrosses headquarters in Toulouse.
Long from the time when the school was founded in 1903 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), the establishment, which educates 5,500 students annually, strives for an “inspiring, eco-responsible, innovative future”. insistence of the general manager of TBS Stéphanie Lavigne.
An ambitious project that will require a budget of 120 million euros over five years for this private school that generates approximately 55 million euros in turnover (CA) and offers courses whose tuition fees range between 30,000 and 40,000 euros.
“Of the 5,500 students, 25% are foreigners, 20% scholarship students,” explains Stéphanie Lavigne, who aims to welcome nearly 7,000 students on four campuses by 2026.
“The school, the director general added, is deeply shocked by the health crisis. We have applied for 5.5 million euros at Stichting TBS to help students with housing and benefits. Our students have suffered during this period. They have been showing great fatigue for distance learning courses for a year now. But after a year of Covid-19, we are convinced of the centrality of the face-to-face. People should be at the center of the campus. †
For distance learning, TBS has of course planned a “digital campus” where courses will be permanently online. The other gamble of this roadmap is that of the visibility of the management school in the world rankings, in this case that of Shanghai which is so criticized by French and European researchers and academics.
By taking advantage of the results of more than 320 publications in internationally renowned scientific journals, by developing the center of excellence in strategic areas: corporate social responsibility (CSR/SD); aviation and aerospace; artificial intelligence, big data, etc. TBS Education plans to create ten chairs (CSR, audit, space, consulting, health, entrepreneurship) by 2026, five research labs, and offer 70 double degrees with the Grandes Ecoles.
