The African Center for Higher Studies in Management (CESAG) is an international public institution belonging to the member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA).

The main activities of CESAG are education, research and consultancy in the field of management.

The African Center for Higher Studies in Management (CESAG) is seeking a candidate for the position of “business developer” within its BDU “Business Development” unit in the Training and Research Department.

Overview assignments

The mission of the “Business Developer” or Business Engineer is to develop the commercial strategy of the institution to increase and develop its activity (new customers, partnerships, products, services, projects, etc.) and increase its turnover.

Description of activities

  • Identify new growth levers, manage commercial projects and negotiate new commercial agreements
  • Develop new activities to create and launch new products or services, enter into new partnerships, convince prospects, convert the potential value of the product into added value.
  • Increase the turnover of the institution by adopting a predefined commercial strategy and providing solutions, either directly (new prospects, products, services) or indirectly (marketing, communication).
  • Strategic and operational implementation of a business development plan
  • Carry out strategic studies, project management and their implementation in several identified phases:
    Develop a business strategy
    Position yourself in a company
    Analyze the internal and external environment
    A feasible and concrete action plan
    Drawing up a development plan
    A feasible and concrete action plan
    Communicate and coordinate the action plan internally
  • Find new levers for growth.
  • Manage commercial projects and especially negotiate new commercial agreements 8. Ensure smooth running of all activities
  • Follow all actions that are part of the business plan so that they deliver real added value
  • Conduct market research and measure the attractiveness of the institution’s external environment 11. Diagnose the client portfolio and the strength of competitors
  • Carry out prospecting, negotiation, market research and a keen knowledge of its products and services.

Qualifications required

  • Diploma in trade school from technical school: Bac +5 in Management and International Trade, Manager of Marketing and Commercial Strategy, in Finance, in Management or in Marketing
  • Minimum experience required: At least seven (07) years in a similar position in a recognized commercial company or as a high-end commercial company
  • A great asset is the knowledge of how a Consulting structure works. Additional information
  • Schedule: 40 hours a week;
  • Term of Employment: CDI with three (03) month probationary period, renewable only once; Nationality: Be a national of one of the WAEMU member states
