The crooks of Balatroon (GOB), a hybrid metaverse, successfully closed a $2.46 million fundraiser led by Jun Capital and Merit Circle. It included Vulcan Forged, Bullperks, Unizen, PlayNity, Faculty Group, Skyvision Capital, and Maven Capital. The fundraiser also involved angel investors such as the CEOs of HUSL and Lovelace World and Charles Read of Rarestone Capital.

Funds from the start-up and private sale would help GOB continue the development of its collector card game with other exclusive ventures. GOB wants a multiipart platform which supports its collectible card game and a full franchise of NFT gaming experiences. It plans to include expansion card sets, immersive gameplay, unique customization, inclusion of NFT lands, and ecosystem mechanics for landowners.

The GOB team consists of industry professionals with experience in collector card games, NFT games, web development and blockchain. With Vulcan Forged as a partner, GOB would gain access to new opportunities and Vulcan Forged’s innovative ecosystem. GOB is focused on building a sustainable brand with a viable ecosystem.

With the high cost of entering the game-to-win ecosystem, GOB aims to provide gaming experiences to users in a free-to-win model. Web 2.0 gamers can join the web 3.0 platform without needing a wallet. While holders of GOB’s main NFT have already earned its utility token, they would benefit from access to: the NFTs other GOB awards partner projects.

GOB: the metaverse for trading card game

Goons of Balatroon is a metaverse with a hybrid 2D/3D interface. This is a free to win game that involves card strategy and land ownership. This is the first virtual world project sponsored by VulcanVerse and Merit Circle. The game infuses the trading card game plan with imagination, innovation and a great sense of humor. Users need a strategy to win in the GOB arena with over 250 NFT cards.

The game was developed using Unity and the Ethereum blockchain. It allows players to own and manage in-game NFTs necessary for gaming functions. These NFTs give players access to future rewards and can be traded on secondary NFT markets. These resources include Goon characters, Goon cards, and customization items.

The game economy consists of five modules that work together to make the economy sustainable and rewarding. These modules include Stakeholders, Exchange, Core Pools, Input Channels and Output Channels. The stakeholders are formed by the community and the GOB foundation.

The core pool is filled with tokens used to support DeFi mechanisms. It includes a vault, a wagering reward pool and a game reward pool. Input channels are the result of paid transactions that add value to the community while output channels come from reward pools, play or staking and are shared using respective protocols.

$GOB: currency of GOB

$GOB is the native currency of the GOB universe. It drives the in-game economy and serves utility purposes. It also serves as governance and reward tokens. Players can earn $GOB by playing or renting out their in-game NFTs to other players and sharing their rewards.

In addition, players can wager their $GOB in the rewards wagering protocol. The ecosystem has $ETH as another currency. Players can use both to purchase card packs, customize new cards, purchase in-game purchase add-ons, and perform other game activities. However, using $GOB for these transactions would result in discounts.

$GOB was created using the Ethereum blockchain with Immutable X as the layer 2 blockchain. Using Immutable X helps GOB to create a seamless gaming experience as it does not support gas fees, instant exchanges and scalability.

Goons of Balatroon is building a collector’s card game on the blockchain with wacky and quirky cards. User engagement and empowerment go through digital ownership and economic gain. The original project collection can be found at: open sea
